Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions Advises front line supervisors and managers on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward company goals and an effective hand-off to operations Facilitates and documents employee engagements meetings Partners with HR leadership to ensure critical or recurring issues have a resolution plan Leads supervisory and management training specific to HR-related topics Responds to employee inquiries of moderate complexity regarding policies, procedures and programs Manages non-exempt recruiting activities and exempt recruiting through first level supervisory roles, including organizing and executing job fairs Conducts employee investigations and recommends appropriate resolution Manages leave of absence process Answers unemployment claims; prepares for and attends unemployment hearings May monitor temporary agency performance and compliance May supervise a non-exempt Human Resources Coordinator Other duties as required and assigned Requirements:
Education &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook Essential Skills:
Excellent communication skills, written and oral Excellent critical thinking skills Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
